Saturday 14th February - walks **** – Felixstowe and Levington – sunny.

Walk 1 – Felixstowe prom.

The day started cloudy but the forecast sunshine arrived making it lovely to see some blue sky making it ideal for the rearranged St. Elizabeth Valentines Day Charity dip. Mag and I walked down towards the Manor end, Mag turned off to Lidl will I headed onto the beach to take pictures of the 200 dippers many in fancy dress waiting to run into the sea. Although the wind was off there was a northerly swell running meaning there was some big waves braking on the beach, the Coastwatch lifeboat made the mistake of landing on the beach and was quickly filled with water by the breaking wave and they were lucky to push it back out to sea! Drama over I stood on the rocks to snap the run into the sea which was over pretty quickly although a few stayed in a little longer, after getting some nice pics I headed home to sort out a few photos for the local weather before packing a picnic.

Walk 2 – Levington circuit.

Mag and I wanted to make the most of the sunshine but did not want to go too far so we drove over over to Levington and parked across from the church and headed to our seat overlooking the Orwell, again no deer but loads of snowdrops and daffs:) We watched a few yachts on the river out in the light airs, it felt nice and warm with the sun on our faces too:) The picnic went well, then we walked down to the Orwell along the wooden walkway, there were loads of waders feeding in the mud and were lucky enough to spot a Kingfisher in Levington Creek, what a top day we had:)
